The Channel Islands over 50's cricket team lost their first away match in the national championship to Hampshire by 127 runs on Wednesday. Hampshire batted first at Hursley Park and scored two 259 for five, with Guernsey's Steve Birkett taking four wickets for 25. In reply, the Channel Islands could only muster 132 all out as Derek de la Haye top scored with 28. The islands next match is against Devon at Grainville on Saturday, 28 June. It is their second loss in three games. They were defeated by Somerset earlier this month but beat Cornwall in their opening match in May.
