Devon's batsmen threw away the chance of getting the county's first MCCA Championship win of the season as they drew with Berkshire at Torquay. After bowling Berkshire out for 189, despite having them at 70-7, they had 55 overs to get the 167 run target. Openers Rob Holman (47) and Richard Foan (29) put on 83 for the first wicket but then the home side collapsed to 94-5. When James Hudson (38) went the tail blocked out the last overs to draw. Devon managed to score just 151 runs from 52 overs, 16 short of their target at the close of play. Both sides get 11 points, which sees Devon go fourth from bottom in the MCCA Championship Western division, while Berkshire are second. Devon travel to Dean park to take on Dorset on Sunday 6 July.
