Devon's cricketers are just one game away from a trip to Lord's after beating Cheshire by six wickets in the quarter-finals of the MCCA Trophy. Captain Bobby Dawson steered Devon home at Chester Boughton Hall with a vital 57, backed by fellow half centurion Arul Suppiah (52). Earlier, Ian Bishop took three wickets in limiting Cheshire to 178-9. But Devon easily made their target, getting to 180-4 with almost 15 overs to spare to book a semi-final place. Devon still do not know who they will face in the semis on Sunday 13 July - but they do know that they will have to travel. They must face the winners of Wednesday's delayed quarter-final between Lincolnshire and Norfolk to decide who goes through to the final at Lord's in August to play either Oxfordshire or Berkshire.
