Coach Taj Malik said his team will be heroes in Afghanistan

In the first of the two semi-finals, the Afghans posted 142 in 45.5 overs, man of the match Nabi Eisakhil top scoring with 48.

In reply, Nepal could only manage 105, Gul Abed claiming 2-13 and Hamid Hassan 2-12.

Now I am sure this team will go to the World Cup

Afghanistan coach, Taj Malik

Afghanistan coach Taj Malik told BBC Radio Jersey:

"This means so much to the whole of my nation, there will be a huge celebration in Afghanistan.

"They will be heroes because we have beaten some strong nations. Because if you compare my country with some other teams we have zero facilities."

He believed it's the beginning of Afghanistan's path to the 2011 Cricket World Cup.

"We already achieve our goals which was to qualify for Division Four in Tanzania in October, so now I am sure this team will go to the World Cup and you will see.

"Tomorrow will be no problem, tomorrow will be our victory.

"I have a very solid plan for Jersey because they are very weak against the spinners. I have so many options."

BBC Radio Jersey have live commentary on the match from 14.15 on 88.8fm and 1026am in Jersey and online.
