Misbah-ul Haq hit 87 to set Pakistan on their way to a 102-run win over Bangladesh in their first ever Twenty20 international on home soil. Misbah put on 78 for the third wicket with Younus Khan (47) and 63 for the fourth with captain Shoaib Malik (37) as Pakistan reached 203-5. With Mohammad Nazimuddin hitting 42, Bangladesh were 85-2 in the 12th over but lost eight wickets for 16 runs. Debutant Mansoor Amjad took three wickets in an over to finish the rout. Misbah hit five towering sixes in a 53-ball innings. Pakistan, who blanked the visitors 5-0 in the preceding one-day series, lost openers Salman Butt and Kamran Akmal in paceman Mashrafe Mortaza's first over. But Misbah put the team back on track and Younis matched him stroke for stroke, hitting seven boundaries during his 28-ball knock. Misbah lifted Razzak for a six over long-on to pass his previous highest Twenty20 score of 66 made against Australia. In reply, opener Nazimuddin hit three sixes in a 48-ball stay but was the seventh wicket to fall, in the 15th over. Leg-spinner Amjad then enjoyed a dream first international over with wickets from his second, fifth and sixth balls.
