One-day international, Harare: South Africa 323-9 (50 overs) bt Zimbabwe 295-7 (50 overs) by 28 runs De Villiers hammered the ball to all parts in Harare |
AB de Villiers' second one-day century helped South Africa beat Zimbabwe by 28 runs in Harare to sweep the series 3-0.
Albie Morkel, who hit four sixes, fell three short of a first ton after adding a Proteas record 186 with de Villiers.
De Villiers hit 22 in one Sean Williams over and four of his six sixes went out of the ground in his 107 off 89 balls.
Tatenda Taibu hit a maiden ODI century in reply but Zimbabwe's bid to overhaul South Africa's total of 323-9 ran out of steam and they finished on 295-7.
Former captain Taibu is playing in his first series since ending an international exile of almost two years.
He claimed to have retired aged 22, accusing the country's cricket board of financial mismanagement, and considered qualifying to play for South Africa.
