Bodi made a promising debut for South Africa

Indian-born South Africa debutant Gulam Bodi made a half century as they beat Zimbabwe by five wickets in the first of their three-match one-day series.

Elton Chigumbura and Gary Brent both hit 59 to help Zimbabwe recover from a sorry 72-7 and post 206 in Bulawayo.

Loots Bosman fell third ball in reply but Bodi and skipper Graeme Smith (50) added 73 to steady the Proteas.

Bodi (51) continued steadily as he put on 74 with AB de Villiers (63) and they eased home with 19 balls to spare.
