Herschelle Gibbs hit 111 off 100 balls to help South Africa crush Zimbabwe by nine wickets in Harare and go 2-0 up in their three-match one-day series.

Brendan Taylor (44), Tatenda Taibu (43), Sean Williams (54) and Stuart Matsikenyeri (52) helped the home side post a competitive total of 247-7.

But captain Graeme Smith and Gibbs put the result beyond doubt by sharing 174.

Smith (96) mis-timed a sweep behind and Gibbs was caught at mid-wicket but the Proteas won with almost 11 overs left.
