The inaugural ICC World Cricket League has been hailed as an "outstanding" success by the game's governing body. It was set up to give the six associate member teams who will be playing at the World Cup extra competitive practice.
ICC global development manager Matthew Kennedy praised the "dedication and desire" shown by the players in Kenya.
"You now have the opportunity to shake up the world of one-day cricket and you should face that challenge with confidence and enthusiam," he said.
Hosts Kenya and Scotland will meet in Wednesday's final after finishing as the top two teams in the league, which also involved Ireland, the Netherlands, Canada and Bermuda.
And Kennedy paid tribute to Cricket Kenya for the way the tournament had been organised. He said: "The tight results, the progression, the learning, the team performances and the individual heroics we've seen within it go to show just how hard the players have worked and how far they have come."
Canadian wicketkeeper-batsman Ashish Bagai was named Player of the Tournament. The 25-year-old hit two centuries and one fifty at an average of 86.25, including a top score of 137 not out in his side?s thrilling seven-run defeat to finalists Scotland.
He said: "I am really psyched and it is great for my confidence ahead of the World Cup.
"Our first game in the World Cup is against Kenya. That is a big game for us and one we really want to win."
