Kumble expects to wrap up victory
Anil Kumble
As a senior bowler it's important to lead the way

Anil Kumble
Anil Kumble is confident India will seal victory in the second Test against West Indies on day four in St Lucia.

The leg-spinner became the fourth highest wicket-taker in Tests as the hosts followed on more than 300 behind.

"The pitch will be more up and down as the game progresses. We have two days and a lot of overs so we expect from this position to get nine wickets.

"We came very close to winning in the last Test and hopefully we will be able to do it on Tuesday," Kumble said.

The 35-year-old leg-break bowler overtook Courtney Walsh by removing Dwayne Bravo in the Windies first innings to claim his 520th wicket in his 108th Test.

He says he is relishing the responsibilty of leading a young bowling attack.

"I look at myself as a key member of the side, having played for this long," Kumble added.

"The pressure is on everyone, and more so on me. As a senior bowler it's important for me to lead the way."

The track is getting lower and lower

Daren Ganga

Opener Daren Ganga admits his team are in a "dicey" situation and knows conditions are in the bowlers' favour.

"All we can do is try to salvage a draw and it's going to be difficult," he said.

"The pace and bounce are a bit inconsistent and it's offering something to the spinners so it requires a lot of application and concentration.

"The track is getting lower and lower as the day goes on and a lot of batters are getting out lbw so we have to get forward as much as possible and bat out of the crease."

Ganga was full of praise for Kumble and said he presented a unique challenge to the home side.

"He bowls a lot straighter than most spinners and gets you playing most of the balls, bringing a lot of factors such as lbw and catches behind into play.

"Spinners who don't turn the ball that much are more difficult to play than those who do, especially on tracks which are inconsistent."
