The first match of the 2007 Cricket World Cup will be between hosts West Indies and Pakistan at Sabina Park in Kingston, Jamaica on 13 March. Fifty one matches will take place over 47 days and England's first Group C clash will be against New Zealand in St Lucia on 16 March.
England will also meet Canada and Kenya in the opening round-robin stage.
Defending champions Australia open against Scotland in St Kitts on 14 March in a Group A clash.
Also in Group D with West Indies are Zimbabwe and debutants Ireland while Australia's other first-round opponents are South Africa and Holland.
Trinidad & Tobago host Group B in which Sri Lanka, India, Bangladesh and Bermuda will battle it out. The top two teams from each group will advance to the Super 8 stage where teams will play each of the remaining teams - except the team that advanced from their own group.
The Super 8 stage of the tournament, which begins on Tuesday 27 March, will be played in Antigua, Guyana, Grenada and Barbados.
Four teams will advance to the semi-finals which will take place in Jamaica on 24 April and St Lucia on 25 April.
The final will take place at the Kensington Oval in Barbados on 28 April.
The event mascot is a teenage character called Mello who is said to embody the lifestyle of the region.
