England's batsmen showed some fight in the face of a daunting Indian total on day two of the third Under-19 Test.
But by stumps in Jamshedpur they were struggling at 189-4 in reply to the hosts' 472-4 declared.
Cheteshwar Pujara completed his double century and M Tewari reached three figures before the innings closed.
Kent's Joe Denly hit a brisk 81 in reply before giving a return catch to leg-spinner Piyush Chawla, and Ben Harmison went to stumps 40 not out.
