Lehmann in aggressive mood during his 172-ball innings |
Australian batsman Darren Lehmann said the team made a vow not to repeat last year's display against India in the current Test match with New Zealand. At Adelaide in 2003 the Australians slipped to a four wicket defeat having amassed 556 in the first innings.
"We spoke about getting a big team score and not letting sides back in," said Lehmann, who hit 10 fours in his 81 as his team rattled up 575-8.
"I think it will spin a lot over the fourth and fifth days," he added.

The 34-year-old admitted that he was disappointed not to have recorded a century on his home ground. "I was a bit frustrated at not getting there, I worked pretty hard throughout the whole innings," he said.
"To not give a chance and almost play the perfect innings without getting three figures is a bit disappointing.
"You love to score a century in front of your home crowd, but I am really happy with the end result and the way we played and the way I played was very gratifying."
The left-hander was bowled 19 short of his century, and the dismissal was an unusual as well as untimely one.
"I was bowled off my pads, which was disappointing because I was so far outside leg-stump," he explained.
"That happens to me because I'm not the most orthodox player around and I get out in funny ways sometimes."

Asked whether he would get another opportunity to score a hundred at the Adelaide Oval, he said: "Who knows? A year is a long time in sport." New Zealand spinner Daniel Vettori insisted his team were still in the match and would take inspiration from India's surprise victory a year ago.
"If we can get a score of close to 500 and then make Australia bat again under some pressure, then we have a really good chance of forcing a result.
"Obviously if we don't bat well over the next two days we have no chance, but we are confident of doing it," said the left-armer, who took five wickets in an innings for the 11th time.
