More exciting times are ahead for Scottish cricket |
Cricket Scotland is the new identity that the nation's governing body hopes will usher in a brighter future. A new logo incorporates a red cricket ball with an inset Scottish thistle.
It has been created by Edinburgh-based Family Advertising to be the new public face for the Scottish Cricket Union and its legal arm Scottish Cricket Ltd.
The unveiling coincides with the launch of membership packages that allow fans to purchase Scottish Saltires tickets and merchandise on a revamped website.
Craig Wright combines his duty as Scottish Saltires and Scotland cricket captain with his role as marketing manager at Cricket Scotland.

"Cricket Scotland provides all of our stakeholders with a dynamic, modern identity that can be readily and consistently applied to all of our corporate and marketing activity," he said. "As the popularity of cricket continues to grow, we now wish to promote our sport under a fresh, unambiguous identity of which players, sponsors and cricket fans alike can be proud.
"2004 is a very important year for not only the Lloyds TSB Scotland Scottish Saltires but also the senior cricket team and LTSBS U-19 World Cup squad.
"The 2004 Saltires packages give our army of cricket fans the chance to show their support for us up front and to guarantee themselves not only entry to the key NCL matches but to also benefit from the tremendous benefits within the gold, silver and junior package deals."
National coach Tony Judd said: "This is a big year for all involved in Scottish cricket.
"I'd like to appeal to the many cricket fans and sponsors who have supported us in the past to once again, get behind us as we prepare for the tournaments ahead. "Last year, we had a total of over 10,000 cricket fans attending the Saltires and Scotland matches and I'd hope the great value of the 2004 packages will encourage many more fans to follow us in the season ahead."
Though day-to-day operational affairs will now be run under the brand name of Cricket Scotland, the terms Scottish Cricket Union, the sport's constitutional umbrella, and Scottish Cricket Ltd will remain as legal entities.
