Klusener was Player of the Tournament at the 1999 World Cup |
Lance Klusener and the United Cricket Board of South Africa have reached an out-of-court settlement over the player's legal action against them. Klusener sued the board for loss of earnings after his national contract was not renewed in April last year.
But he has now been awarded a contract until April, when it will be reviewed.
"It's wonderful to have 'Zulu' (Klusener's nickname) back in the fold," said UCBSA chief executive Gerald Majola.
Klusener alleged he was verbally promised a contract for South Africa's tour to England earlier this year before being discarded.

He claimed that promise prevented him from pursuing a contract to play county cricket. Details of the settlement remain confidential, but Klusener is now set to return to the international fold.
"It's good that we can now all concentrate on cricketing matters again," he said. "I am looking forward to this new era in my career."
The last of Klusener's 48 Tests came just over two years ago against Australia in Melbourne.
He has also played in 154 one-day internationals, and was a star of the 1999 World Cup before being dropped after the 2003 tournament.
"We are looking forward to more outstanding cricket from him," added Majola.
