Zimbabwe face stiff task
Zimbabwe coach Geoff Marsh
Marsh believes his side have progressed since facing Australia
Zimbabwe coach Geoff Marsh admits it will be a difficult task to defeat Australia and India in next month's tri-nations series.

Already this year the Zimbabweans have lost a Test series to Australia, who beat India in the final of the World Cup earlier this year.

"It's going to be a big ask, playing against the winners and finalists in the World Cup," said Marsh.

"But I think you improve a lot when you play against the best."

Since losing the Test series to Australia 2-0, Zimbabwe impressed for much of the Tests and one-dayers against the West Indies.

Marsh added: "We had a really good series against the West Indies and really should have won both the one-dayers and the Test series.

"I know from coaching Zimbabwe that the players learned a lot from playing Australia six weeks ago.

"We saw that in the performance against the West Indies and I just hope we can go a step better in our one-day cricket."

Grant Flower and Doug Hondo have been added to Zimbabwe's squad for the series.

Zimbabwe open their Tri-nations bid with a game against Australia at Sydney Cricket Ground on 11 January.
