Windies turn tables
Second Test, Bulawayo: Zimbabwe v West Indies

Omari Banks
Banks took three wickets late on the fourth day
Zimbabwe were left on the verge of defeat in the second Test despite bowling West Indies out for 128.

Chasing 233 for victory, the home side were in a desperate position at 90-9 when bad light ended the fourth day 12 overs early in Bulawayo.

Spinner Omari Banks led the way with 3-35, and there were two wickets each for Corey Collymore and Wavell Hinds.

The home side's own spinner, left-armer Ray Price, had taken a similar role earlier in the day with 4-36.

Opening bowlers Andy Blignaut and Heath Streak took three wickets each as the tourists were left reeling.

But any celebrations were put on hold after just four balls, when opener Vusi Sibanda edged Merv Dillon to West Indies skipper Brian Lara at slip.

Only three batsmen got into double figures with spin, swing and seam movement all playing a part.

Merv Dillon
Dillon hit 27 not out in an important eighth wicket stand
Mark Vermeulen top-scored with 24 before dragging a delivery from medium-pacer Hinds onto his stumps.

Hinds had only just bettered that total himself as the leading West Indies batsman, his 28 taking 75 balls before he was Price's first victim, caught at short leg.

The final three West Indies wickets fell in two overs, Price dismissing Banks and Corey Collymore in five balls to leave Dillon 27 not out.

The fast bowler's eighth-wicket stand of 45 with Banks was the largest partnership of the innings.

The best moment of the morning was Streak's dismissal of counterpart Lara for one, courtesy of an inswinging yorker.

But the veteran all-rounder ended the day thrashing an unbeaten 19, in increasing desperation after six wickets fell in just 12 overs after tea.

Zimbabwe: Vusi Sibanda, Trevor Gripper, Mark Vermeulen, Stuart Carlisle, Stuart Matsikenyere, Craig Wishart, Tatenda Taibu, Heath Streak, Andy Blignaut, Ray Price, Blessing Mahwire. 12th man Jordaan Nicolle.

West Indies: Brian Lara (capt), Chris Gayle, Wavell Hinds, Daren Ganga, Ramnaresh Sarwan, Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Ridley Jacobs (wkt), Corey Colleymore, Fidel Edwards, Omari Banks, Mervyn Dillon.
