Zia failed to shine in his debut series |
Pakistan have dropped the son of their Cricket Board president for the final one-day game against Bangladesh. Junaid Zia has managed only three wickets in four matches at a cost of 127 runs.
And the 19-year-old seam bowler had figures of 0-46 from six overs in Thursday's game at Rawalpindi, which Pakistan won by five wickets.
He has been replaced by uncapped Abdul Rauf in a 15-man squad for Sunday's match in Karachi.
The choice of Zia was heavily criticsed prior to the series, but chief selector Aamir Sohail insisted he had been picked on merit.
"It doesn't matter for us whether someone is the son of a general or a poor one," Sohail told the BBC Urdu Service.
"For us, the criteria is his ability to play cricket."
Zia's father, Lt Gen Tauqir Zia has been president of the Pakistan Cricket Board since December 2000.
