Australia bowled Pakistan out for 203 in the first session of the fourth day's play on Tuesday to win by an innings and 20 runs. Pakistan had resumed on 176-8 and battled bravely for more than an hour in Sharjah before Andy Bichel claimed the last two wickets. The only comfort Pakistan could take from the Test was the resurgence of middle order batsman Hasan Raza. He was unbeaten on 56 in the first innings and notched up 68 in the second. But the match will be best remembered for Australian paceman Glenn McGrath reaching 400 Test wickets. He ended the match on 403 scalps. It was the second successive innings win by Australia in the series played on neutral territory because of security fears in Pakistan. |
