| Friday, 24 May, 2002, 10:28 GMT 11:28 UK Bond back for Black Caps Shane Bond made a huge impact against Australia The injury-ravaged New Zealand team have received a boost with the news that Nathan Astle and Shane Bond will be fit for the upcoming tour of the West Indies. Paceman Bond who came to prominence during the series against Australia at the end of 2001, has been missing from the side since then. He missed both the visit of England and the tour to Pakistan during that time. New Zealand are already without the likes of Chris Cairns, Shayne O'Connor, Andre Adams and Dion Nash after his recent retirement. The Black Caps' punishing schedule also saw mainstay Astle breakdown in the subcontinent with a knee injury but he is now fit to return. Both men have been named in the 15-man one-day squad, as well as the 13-man Test party. First call-up Jacob Oram who also succumbed to a side strain in Pakistan is also ready to return to the one-day squad. There are no new faces in the Test squad but spinner Matthew Hart returns to the one-day party after an absence of three years, whilst Wellington seamer Paul Hitchcock receives a first call-up. Chris Martin, Mark Richardson and wicketkeeper Robbie Hart will come into the Test team after the conclusion of the one-day series. Chairman of selectors Richard Hadlee confirmed that one more player would be added to the Test side after the conclusion of the one-dayers. The team is due to fly out on 28 May, with the first ODI scheduled for 5 June at Sabina Park, Jamaica.
