Scotland's cyclists endured a mixed morning in the velodrome, winning a silver in the women's team sprint after Ross Edgar crashed out of the keirin.
Olympic silver medallist Edgar missed out on a place in the final after being brought down by South Africa's Bernard Pierre Esterhuizen in the semi-final.
Australia's world champions Anna Meares and Kaarle McCulloch outclassed Jenny Davis and Charlie Joiner in the sprint.
The Aussies were quickest out of the start gate and won by two seconds.
Edgar was philosophical after losing out in an event where he claimed an Olympic Silver medal in Beijing in 2008.
"I thought I was in a good position. I thought the South African had made an early break and he was miles ahead," he said.

The collision was blamed by judges on Australian rider Shane Perkins, who was subsequently disqualified after winning the semi-final, and gesticulated to judges after winning the race for seventh to 12th.
But Edgar refused to blame the Australian for missing out on the chance of a medal.
"They've relegated Shane Perkins there, but I really don't think it was his fault, he didn't do anything wrong really," said Edgar.
"I wouldn't hold anything against him at all. It's just one of those things.
"I think it just got a bit tight at the end of the day.
"I had quite a soft landing but I've come away nothing on me, my skinsuit's fine and there's not a mark on me.
He added: "It's just all about getting ready for the sprint now. Just getting my head back fine and refocused for that after the disappointment here."
