Michael Martin dunks one for England on his way to 13 points |
England's men overcame a tense start to beat Nigeria 80-58 and emulate the women's bronze in the basketball. England struggled to find their rhythm early on and both teams finished on 15 points after the first quarter.
Robert Reed and Andrew Bridge led the way as England got into their stride in the second phase and they pulled away in the third and final quarters.
Reed top-scored with 16 points and Michael Martin added 13 as England powered home in the later stages.
England captain Ronnie Baker said: "It's been great working with these guys and it feels great to take a medal home.
"The guys stuck together through the highs and lows and showed that if we stayed together, we could achieve."
Veteran forward John Amaechi added: "I think this is the first game we've played where we pulled all the facets of our game together.
"I was confident we could win if things went right, but this margin required smart, hard basketball, so I'm really pleased."
Australia won the gold medal by beating New Zealand 81-76.
