Wales' Johanne Brekke was content after taking bronze in the 50m rifle prone women's individual event. "I can't deny it's a bit of a relief to get it over with," said the 27-year-old from Roath in Cardiff.
"I'm very happy with my performance but you always want a little bit more from yourself.
"The conditions were pretty tough and the wind was difficult to master. It's been such a fantastic day for Welsh shooting - absolutely stunning."
Melbourne is Brakke's third Commonwealth Games and she finished just two shots off the gold medal in a high-quality final.
"I finished fifth in the same event in Manchester so I'm happy to have secured a medal this time," she said.
