England's mixed badminton team sailed to their third 5-0 victory in a row at the Commonwealth Games on Saturday.

The reigning champions demolished India to book a quarter-final date against Canada, dropping just two sets in their pool match against India.

Olympic silver medallist Gail Emms and women's doubles partner Donna Kellogg won convincingly 21-12 21-16.

Emms and mixed partner Nathan Robertson completed the rout, taking just 17 minutes for a 21-15 20-10 win.

Hallam was made to fight in her women's singles match before beating India's Lalji Popat 21-13 16-21 21-17.

"It was my hardest game yet and I'm a bit disappointed to drop a set," she said.

Aamir Ghaffar also had a tough battle in the men's singles, beating Chetan Anand, 21-19 17-21 21-17.

"It always takes me a while to settle into a tournament, I always need a couple of games before I get used to my surroundings and begin to feel at home," he explained.

Men's doubles pairing Anthony Clark and Robert Blair made quick work of their opponents with a straight sets win.
