Thaxton is a former European and British lightweight champion

Norfolk boxer Jon Thaxton says he is finding it hard to move on after losing his last fight five months ago.

The Taverham lightweight lost his European belt back in February to Frenchman Anthony Mezaache.

The 34-year-old told BBC Radio Norfolk: "I'm still haunted by it. I still get up and have that sinking feeling and feel totally gutted about it."

"The match should have been over in the first round. But I'm picking myself up and preparing for the next fight."

Thaxton's next fight is on 18 July at York Hall in Bethnal Green, although his opponent has yet to be confirmed.
