Ogogo lost to Eamonn O'Kane at the Commonwealth Games

Lowestoft's Anthony Ogogo has set his sights on a professional career - but not before scooping Olympic glory.

The 21-year-old took middleweight silver in the Commonwealth Games last week but has vowed to go even further.

"I want to become a world champion as a professional and I want big fights - but my main dream is to become Olympic champion," he told BBC Radio Suffolk.

"Getting a silver medal has made me even more hungry. The silver proves I can beat the best."

He added: "But I'm not there yet, I need to get down to the gym, work hard and turn that silver medal into a gold medal.

"Hopefully I'll be turning pro with a gold medal around my neck."

Ogogo, who was beaten in the Delhi final by Northern Ireland's Eamonn O'Kane, overcame favourite Vijender Singh in controversial fashion at the semi-final stage.

The 24-year-old Indian, who has celebrity status in his home country, lost the bout on penalty points for holding.

The result drew hostility from the home crowd and while Ogogo remained bullish at the time, he admits the experience effected him.

"I sat down in the changing room and I couldn't get up," he said.

"I needed to get the physio to help me up because I was so emotionally and physically drained.

"That was my final. When you get yourself up up for a massive fight like that it doesn't just take it out of you physically, but emotionally and mentally it really drains you."
