Brian Magee is the European super-middleweight champion

Brian Magee should get a crack at the world super-middleweight title by January 2011 after being named as mandatory challenger by the WBA.

The Belfast boxer is to fight champion Dimitry Sartison with the World Boxing Association telling the two managements to negotiate terms for a bout.

Magee's much-awaited title chance should happen in December or January.

In September, Magee made the first defence of his European title in Dublin by stopping Armenian Roman Aramian.

Afterwards, Magee said he hoped a world title showdown with Sartison could be staged in Belfast, rather than Germany where the champion is based.
