Lawton's prospects look bleak after a third unsuccessful title tilt

Scott Lawton was blown away in three rounds as Leva Kirakoysan regained the European super-featherweight title.

The former English lightweight champion was floored in the opening seconds of the first round and was lucky to survive a standing count in the second.

Lawton looked unsteady at the start of the third, and Kirakoysan launched himself at the 33-year-old from Stoke.

The referee intervened 21 seconds into the round to stop the Armenian from inflicting further damage.

Afterwards Lawton, who has twice failed to win the British lightweight title, admitted he did not know what his next career move would be.

"If you don't take fights you won't see how far you can get," he told Sky Sports.

"I won't make any rash decisions, but I've done quite a lot in the sport and I'm not really sure if there's anywhere left for me to go."
