Sam Sexton gets shot at Danny Williams' British title

Sam Sexton prepares from an onslaught in a fight against Martin Rogen in Belfast
Sexton has beaten Martin Rogen in two Commonwealth bouts this year

Norwich's Sam Sexton will fight Danny Williams for his British heavyweight crown in London on 13 February.

The 25-year-old Commonwealth champion turned down a fight with Williams in 2008 before outclassing Martin Rogan twice in Belfast this year.

The second of Sexton's victories over Rogan came in November where a TKO secured his shot at the British title.

Sexton's gym-mates, brothers Ryan, Liam and Michael Walsh from Cromer, are likely to fight on the undercard.

Trainer Graham Everett believes Sexton goes into this fight with more momentum than Williams, but they are taking nothing for granted.

"There's a great deal of interest in Sam. He is still very young for a heavyweight, coming into his prime, and Danny is supposedly on the slide.

"But he's a very big heavyweight. I've watched his career and he's a very big puncher but probably not the force he was.

"But as I said as soon as this fight was made, we're going to prepare for the Danny Williams who beat Mike Tyson."
