Cox claimed Commonwealth gold in 2006

Commonwealth light-welterweight gold medallist Jamie Cox will fight in Swindon for the first time in his professional career this October.

The 21-year-old revealed to BBC Radio Swindon that he is due to box at the Oasis leisure centre on the 17 October after a bout in London in September.

"I've got two back-to-back and I'm looking forward to it. It would be good to fight in my hometown," he said.

Cox has won six out of six fights since turning professional last year.
