Alex Arthur hopes to make a point at Kelvin Hall |
Alex Arthur is aiming to take the frustration of a six-month injury lay-off out on Sergio Palomo at the Kelvin Hall next month. The Scot will defend his European super featherweight title against the Spaniard in Glasgow on 4 November.
"I had a few complications with the eye and was advised by a specialist to pull out of my planned fight in the summer," said the 28-year-old Edinburgh fighter.
"But I have been given the all-clear. I'm delighted to be fighting again."
Arthur has not stepped into the ring since April, when he made a successful first defence of his crown against Sergey Gulyakevich, stopping the Belarus fighter in seven rounds at Meadowbank.
He was forced to reject a title defence in July as he recovered from the eye injury sustained against Gulyakevich.

"I have also signed a new deal with my promoters, Sports Network, and both parties got what they wanted," said Arthur.
"There is no time limit on the deal, but it does contain a clause that I will have a world title bout within three fights including the one against Palomo.
"I am not sure when the world title fight will happen, but it would nice if it takes place before next summer."
Arthur, who usually fights in Edinburgh, is back competiting in Glasgow for the first time in three years.
But he still has his heart set on a world title fight in his home city.
"I have not given up on my dream of one day fighting at Edinburgh Castle," he said.
"But the most important thing is I feel ready to make the step up."
The Kelvin Hall bill will also feature Glaswegian lightweight Willie Limond in a challenge for the vacant Commonwealth championship against Ghanaian Kpakpo Allotey.
Former Commonwealth super featherweight champion Craig Docherty scored a sixth-round stoppage against the African in April 2004.
Edinburgh's Gary Young (lightweight), Fauldhouse welterweight Colin McNeil and Commonwealth gold medallist Kenny Anderson (super middleweight) are among the other Scots on the bill.
