Arthur said he hoped Billy Graham would fight his corner |
European super featherweight champion Alex Arthur has asked cornerman Billy Graham to aid his title defence. Wayne McCullough is unavailable for Arthur's fight against Sergio Paloma in November, so the Edinburgh boxer hopes Graham will join the team.
Arthur described Graham, who trains top light welterweight Ricky Hatton, as "a top ring-man" and said he was optimistic he would accept the offer.
"Nothing is definite and we are still talking, but I am optimistic," he said.
Graham helped Michael Gomez defeat Arthur in the British title fight at Meadowbank in 2003.
McCullough cannot make the fight because he will be in Las Vegas at the time.
"I have also had a chat with top London coach, Jimmy Tibbs, who has worked with some of British boxing's biggest names," added Arthur.
