Takaloo came down from light-middleweight for the fight |
Eamonn Magee's comeback came to an end as Takaloo won a majority decision to take the WBU welterweight title at Belfast's King's Hall on Saturday. Margate-based Takaloo got a 116-112 115-113 114-114 verdict after a negative performance from Magee in front of his home crowd.
Underdog Takaloo also took a cautious approach and at times there were frustrated boos from the Belfast crowd.
Significant blows were rare and it was Takaloo's pace that won the day.

"I proved tonight that you cannot write me off because I keep coming back and in there tonight against a good fighter I felt stronger than ever," he said.
"I wish I had moved up to welterweight years ago because it feels so good and now I am convinced you will see the better of me and I will go on to win a major world title.
"Magee did not come to fight in there and it was just a case of trying to hunt him down but I managed to do it and I am so happy.
"They said it was all over but my future is definitely bright."
Magee, 34, last fought 14 months ago, stopping Dane Allan Vester.
A year earlier, his boxing career appeared to be over after he was the victim of a violent street attack in Belfast.
The incident left him with multiple injuries, including a punctured lung and fractured knee.
