Junior Witter has set his sights on a 2005 world title challenge ahead of his Commonwealth defence against Lovemore N'dou in Los Angeles on Saturday. The British light welterweight is on the undercard of compatriot Howard Eastman's tilt at Bernard Hopkins.
"By beating N'Dou I can prove I am up with Kostya Tszyu, Arturo Gatti, Floyd Mayweather and Miguel Cotto," he said.
"N'Dou has been in with the best and no-one has even put a dent in him - let's see how he can handle my power."
Witter has already mapped out a possible path to the top in one of boxing's toughest divisions.

"I am ranked at number three by the WBC," he said. "The number two Branco was supposed to fight me on this show but pulled out, so he should lose his ranking.
"That puts me in line to fight the winner of champion Gatti and top challenger ranked Floyd Mayweather.
"They are meant to be getting it on in the summer, so by the end of the year you could be seeing me in a world title fight."
But the 30-year-old understands the importance of putting on a show in the USA.
"I have already proved I am the best in Europe and the Commonwealth - now it's time for me to showcase my talent on the genuine world scene," he said.
