McCullough has 26 wins from 30 professional bouts |
Former WBC bantamweight world champion Wayne McCullough will box little-known American Mike Juarez in his comeback bout in California later this month. Juarez, who like McCullough is 34, has not won a fight for four years and his record includes a third-round stoppage by Eric Morales in 2000.
The fight will take place at Temecula on 23 September.
McCullough has not fought since being well-beaten by Scott Harrison in a WBO featherweight title bout 18 months ago.
Juarez's career record is 24 wins, 14 defeats and two draws.
The Northern Ireland boxer had hoped to stage his comeback in June but a hand injury caused the postponement of his scheduled contest against John Mackay. McCullough recently linked up again with American promoter Dan Goossen with whom he had ties during the 1990s.
