Harrison wants to try to work out a deal with Bruno

Audley Harrison insists a fight against Frank Bruno is the bout that all British boxing fans want to see.

Bruno announced he wants to come out of retirement to fight the Olympic gold medallist.

And Harrison, who has won all of his 10 professional fights since winning an Olympic title in Sydney in 2000, says he is ready to come up against the 41-year-old.

"If the fight did materialise it would be fantastic but I'm not worried about fighting Frank Bruno," Harrison told Radio Five Live.

"It would be an honour for me and I think it would be a great contest. It is a fight that all of Britain wants to see."

Although Bruno has been out of the ring since losing to Mike Tyson in Las Vegas in 1996, Harrison still believes he would be a stern opponent.

"Frank Bruno was a world champion and he has got proven credentials," said Harrison.

"Although he is 41, he has been running marathons and is in better shape now than most of today's British heavyweights and could beat them.

"Nobody would argue if I was British champion in the next 12 months and one of my first defences was against Frank Bruno.

"I've had 10 fights but every heavyweight in Britain and the world wants to fight me but I've been told I can't fight.

"Now I have a legend like Frank Bruno wanting to fight me but I am the future. I am on the way up and I will keep going up."
