American Rob Calloway says he will use all his experience to beat Audley Harrison in the ring on Saturday. The 32-year-old has racked up an impressive 44-3 record and has knocked out tough men like James 'Quick' Tillis. And he insists: "My strength is my experience. "I've been in the ring with some very good fighters and I'm not in awe of the situation. "I've proven that I'm Audley's best opponent." Harrison cannot escape criticism that he has not been properly tested in the ring during his eight pro bouts.
But Calloway says it is unfair to pour scorn on the Olympic gold medallist's credentials. "Audley would not have had the same criticism in the United States," he said. "People are still hard on me for fighting some guys - and I've had more than 40 fights. Audley's had only eight and they're onto him already." Saturday's fight in Brentford is an eight-round contest - and all the signs point to Calloway pushing the Brit the full distance. "I know it will be a very tough fight," said the American. "I'm very impressed with Audley and I'm certainly not going to stand there and slug with the guy." | See also: 16 Jan 03 | Boxing 14 Jan 03 | Boxing 24 Nov 02 | Boxing Top Boxing stories now: Links to more Boxing stories are at the foot of the page. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
