Olympic gold medallist Audley Harrison has hit out at the treatment of world heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis.

Harrison faces Dominic Negus at Wembley Conference Centre in his sixth professional fight on Wednesday night

He believes that Lewis has not received the credit he deserves for his achievements.

"It took Lennox a long time to be accepted as the best in the world. People in this country are so keen on speeding things along but, just like Lennox, I'm not going to be rushed," he insists.

"He took all the criticism and came through to beat everyone but he's not recognised the way he should be. That's what's wrong in this country, we don't recognise our winners.

"We are talking about doing a garden party for our football team because they went out in the quarter-finals.

"But we have to start treating our people like winners and treat the winners properly," he said.
