Campbell thrown out of 200m
Darren Campbell is disqualified from the 200m
Campbell will not add to his recent medal haul
Darren Campbell has been disqualified from the 200m at the European Championships in Munich.

Campbell, who won the 100m bronze medal, appeared to have won the first heat of the second round in an impressive time of 20.78 seconds.

However, he was eliminated after officials viewed replays of the race which seemed to show Campbell run out of his lane.

British team-mates Marlon Devonish and Christian Malcolm made the semi-finals of the 200m after impressive performances.

Devonish was second in heat two after finishing in 20.41, while Malcolm was third in heat three.

Earlier in the day, Commonwealth champion Chris Rawlinson booked his place in Friday's 400m hurdles final but he may have picked up an injury along the way.

Rawlinson finished second in his semi-final at the Olympic Stadium in 49.48 seconds.

But team-mate Anthony Borsumato, of Sale Harriers, failed to make the final after finishing fifth in his semi in 49.37.

After qualifying, Rawlinson limped towards the dressing room, raising question marks about whether he will will be fit for the final.

"It's my knee," said the 30-year-old. "I have been racing so much I think I might have torn something."

Rawlinson faces tough opposition if he does compete, with former world champion and European record-holder Stephane Diagana winning their semi in 49.01.

Title-holder Pawel Januszewski, of Poland, and Italy's Fabrizio Mori, another former world-beater, both progressed from the other semi where Jiri Muzik, of the Czech Republic, set the fastest time of 48.46.
