Last year's winner Philip Gould could only finish fifth

Coventry Godiva's Matthew Lole won the annual Warwickshire AA 10km Championship on Sunday.

Lole finished clear of second-placed Richard Simkiss in a time of 32 minutes and six seconds.

Madeline Boardman was the first female to finish the race, which is incorporated into the Two Castles Run.

A record field of over 3,000 competitors took part in the run from Warwick to Kenilworth which starts and finishes in the towns' castles.
