Mageean is emerging as Ireland's best junior since Sonia O'Sullivan |
Ciara Mageean set two championship records in the Aviva Ulster Schools Championship at the Antrim Forum. The Assumption Ballynahinch student set a new 800m mark of two minutes and eight seconds. Then she bettered four minutes and 29 seconds to take the senior girls metric mile title. It was impressive running in wet, windy and cold conditions by the Portaferry girl, who is already a big name in Irish athletics.
