Britain's men and women's relay squads ensured Team GB ended the European Indoors on a high note, winning silver and bronze in their respective events. Gareth Warburton, Dale Garland, Daniel Cossins and Richard Davenport landed a shock 4x400m silver after original runners-up Poland were disqualified.
In the women's 4x400m, Melanie Purkiss, Donna Fraser, Catherine Murphy and Lee McConnell set a new British record.
Their time of three minutes 29.81 seconds saw them finish behind Russia and Poland.
In the men's race, the young and inexperienced GB quartet looked out of contention before Poland's Piotr Klimczak sent Spain's Alberto Montero crashing to the ground.
Warburton took advantage and produce a storming finish to snatch third place behind France and Poland.
But when the Poles were disqualified, the Britons were upgraded and Russia got bronze.
France took the gold in 3:07.90, while GB clocked 3:09.53 and Russia recorded 3:09.63.
