Williams is already into his winter training schedule |
Welsh 400m hurdler Rhys Williams says peaking for the Commonwealth Games will prove a challenge. "It's going to be different to any other season when I look to peak in July or August - this year it will be March which is difficult," he said.
"A lot of South African athletes are used to racing at that time of year, but the British are not.
"It's more of a challenge, but that's the way I like it," added the 21-year-old Cardiff athlete.

Williams, the son of Wales and Lions rugby union wing JJ Williams, burst to prominence this season with gold at the European Under-23 Championship in Germany. World Championship selection for the senior GB team followed in Helsinki, where the youngster impressed in making the semi-final.
That left him wanting more, and he is inspired by the challenges of the Commonwealth Games.
"I can't wait," he told BBC Sport Wales. "But there's a lot of training to be done and time is going very quickly.
"There's going to be a much higher standard than at the last Commonwealth Games.
"I've just started the grind of winter training so I hope to be at my best by March."
