British archer Alison Williamson not worried by slope

Shropshire archer Alison Williamson believes the famous Lord's cricket ground slope will not be an issue for the 2012 Olympic archery events.

Williamson has competed at five Olympic games and will be participating in a test event at Lords in October.

"We're shooting across the slope and it isn't that noticeable," Williamson told BBC Radio Shropshire.

"I think they'll build up the ground next to the target, so it will appear visually level to the archers."

Williamson, who is a member of the Long Mynd archery club in Shropshire, hopes to use the scheduled test event later this year to get a feel for the environment in which she will be competing.

"I'll be looking at the wind patterns at the stadium, that's really important in archery," Williamson added.

The bronze medallist at Athens in 2004 won a silver medal in the women's team recurve event at the Delhi 2010 Commonwealth Games.

She has recently returned from a training camp with the Great Britain squad in Germany and her first major event of the season will be in Turkey in April.
