The Queen's granddaughter had the reputation as a rebel in her youth - but hard work has reaped success on the international sporting stage.

She claimed individual gold on her horse Toytown in the three-day eventing competition at the World Equestrian Games in Germany, and also helped Great Britain secure a team silver.

Phillips is only the third rider to hold both European and World titles at the same time. Her mother, the Princess Royal, was BBC Sports Personality in 1971.
