Murray manages to dig himself out of trouble with some accurate serving and takes a tense second set 7-5

Murray takes the third set comfotably to seal a 6-3 7-5 6-2 win and put Britain one up in the tie in Birmingham

But the former British number one breaks back immediately and the remaining games go with serve to set up a tie-break

And Henman, on his return to Davis Cup action, holds his nerve to take the opening set 7-6 (7-4)

Haase goes 0-30 down in the opening game of the second set, but responds well to hold his serve

However, Henman breaks Haase in his next service game and then again in game nine to take the second set 6-3
