The Spanish-Argentine pair are dominating women's doubles |
Number one seeds Paola Suarez and Virginia Ruano Pascual clinched the French Open women's doubles title. Argentine Suarez and her Spanish partner beat Russian second seeds Svetlana Kuznetsova and Elena Likhovtseva 6-0 6-3.
The winners, playing in their ninth consecutive Grand Slam doubles final, collected their sixth title - only Wimbledon is missing from their haul.
The match and its outcome was a repeat of the 2004 Australian Open final.
Bulgaria's Sesil Karatancheva won the girls' singles title by beating Madalina Gojnea of Romania 6-4 6-0. The 14-year-old hit the headlines after a row with Russian teenager Maria Sharapova earlier this year and has vowed not to change her outspoken manner once she turns 15 and goes on the WTA Tour full-time.
"If I think I am doing the right thing then I am not going to shut up," she said. "I'm fun to talk to and I will keep going."
