 France had too much power for Wales in Paris on Saturday |
Wales captain Stephen Jones was in a positive mood despite his side's 32-21 Six Nations defeat to France in Paris. "We took a huge step in the right direction today," Jones told BBC Sport.
"We're bitterly disappointed to lose but at least from a rugby point of view we are back to our old ways after the bad performance in Scotland.
"We felt we had a good lead but France are a very efficient side at the moment, very strong up front and they maintained possession very well."
Wales coach Gareth Jenkins was also upbeat and said he was pleased with the performance even if the result went against his side.
"We want to win simple as that, but the other thing is to perform. I think we did that but we didn't get the 'W'," he said.

"We have been competitive, we have taken the game to France and have given them a game. We were very physical.
"But at the moment we are getting 40% possession per game and that is not enough to win games.
"I'm satisfied we've actually turned a corner. We haven't won but, at the same time, there is improvement."
