Ulster's Tyrone Howe will be sidelined for at least two weeks |
Tyrone Howe will miss Ulster's final Heineken Cup game against Cardiff next Sunday due to a groin injury. Howe limped off in the 72nd minute after helping Ulster to keep a four-year unbeaten home run in Europe intact with a 14-12 victory over Gloucester.
''I will miss the next couple of weeks,'' said Howe. ''I did not try to keep going when I felt the groin go and came off the pitch quickly.
''Hopefully that will have minimised the damage done, and return soon.''
Howe then praised the team for maintaining their four-year unbeaten home record as another Premiership side bit the dust.
''That performance was right up there with the best,'' said Howe after Ulster had come from 12-3 down to win the pulsating Pool Six clash.
''Gloucester had beaten us so heavily in October, so it was quite a turnaround
''But qualification was looking a little bit beyond us, the game was all about pride and performance and we delivered that in spades.
''We have had a slow start to the season, so it's really a yardstick to have far we have come.
''It was exceptionally satisfying to defeat Gloucester and to beat them in the final minutes of the game.
''It was a dreadful night, but I think the crowd got their money's worth. I've never heard the Ravenhill crowd in such good voice.''
