It must be boring for Saracens fans to hear their club labelled the great under-achievers but in Eddie Jones, who led Australia to the 2003 World Cup final and helped South Africa to glory last time, they have a coach who could bury that tag.
Saracens reached the Heineken Cup semis last year, and although they no longer have the talismanic Richard Hill in their ranks, the addition of Steve Borthwick, Michael Owen and Wikus van Heerden will add plenty of experience and steel.
With only one player in England's elite player squad, a play-off berth is surely not out of the question this time.
"There is a weight of expectation but that's good, why would you want to be anywhere else? The Heineken Cup run showed we are capable of playing very good rugby but the Premiership showed we are not capable of playing consistent rugby. You achieve that by good players, good fitness, good infrastructure. We have to change attitudes within the club."
